Spain - Crossroads festival

Had a great weekend in Spain, besides the horrific journey, 1 band, 2 vans, 3 flights, 4 airports! ... why there were 3 flights to spain .. when we could have just taken one i dunno. We got to where we were playing, at 11.30 at night ... and spent 3 hours looking for anywhere to eat. There was nowhere .. so we settled for beer!

The Next day, after eating, and buying the coolest top i've ever owned, for only 50p we headed down to the festival site. If you don't know .. i love Stadium construction, most are genrally beautiful buildings! we were playing infront of a football stadium, this make me happy. (heres the festival line up) http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/2300919.jpg

Seeing some of the amazing musicians on the line up was getting me slightly worried, espeically Sonny Burgess, Joe Bataan, and Kid Creole & The Coconuts! I mean, there we are, looking scruffy and readig to pund out some heavyness, and next tyo us are the guys who created the sound of rock'n'roll, they recorded with Elvis in 1953 .. all of them wearing sun records t-shirts and hats. Totally some of the nicest guys in the world. They even took the time to watch us play, and said 'You guys put on a hell of a show, we really enjoyed it' Thats coolness!

After that drinking happened.
The Next day we went down to the festival to watch some of the other bands. unfortuantely .. i drank to much to take any pictures, hangover city!
Then came the flights home, and the loosing of 2 guitars and my bass! London .. EVIL!
they have now been returned!

Who Am I ?

Today, i went out with my dad. He took me out to discover where my ancestors came from. We went to a place near to Matlock in Derbyshire, called Hermits cave. We sat on the top of a huge hill, and talked for a few hours, before heading to a tiny village called Birchover. Apparantly my ancestors were druids, who built a huge series of caves, which are now behind a pub called 'The Druid Inn'. They were a very influental family, when the village was built, because they were stone masons. They even named a street after them.

West by - South West

After not seeing Franimal or Cars for over 3 weeks, i was missing them. Went down to the Studio with Fran! Messing with Stevies guitars (eaw gibsons) and getting some CDs sorted.

Kicked off our 60 shows in 90 days euro tour today, by playing a warm up at a bikers festival, really lovely people there! Perfect place to play!

The next morning we were back in the van and off to Ilfracomb, in Devon. The venue was the Marlbro club. The back stage was upstairs and it had the lowest roof ever!! I was silly and almost cracked my skull in half 2 seconds before having to go onstage!
Sunday, we went to Stone Henge!! wow, always wanted to go there. Spinal Tap style!! Thats all i could think off!

After the Henge we travelled to Frome (silly name) The venue was set up to get kids playing music, and keep them out of trouble. This is something that also happened in my town when i was 13/14 and if it wasn't for that, i doubt i would be where i am now. So i really enjoyed watching the young bands, it was great to see nerves instead of arrogance.
