Reading - Sunday

OK, seriously .. one of the best days of my life. The day began by going to meet my friend Kat, and then adventure over to see Sonic Boom Six, because K@ said they're awesome. Turns out she was correct. They are awesome and definately got the best crowd reaction out of all the non-mainstage bands.

We then drank loads of water, and watched Billy Tallent, they were great, but i think they were better at Download. K@ Took a picture, and pointed out that with the sun!! and i sware thats all it is, .. that i have ginger hair!

Then i went to the front gate to collect Ben! It was awesome seeing him, because he's been in japan and ive been on tour, its had been way too long. After we captured Ben, we went to see our lovely friends The Dwarves. Thet played an awesome set, and Blag was amazing lol. At the end of their set, there was nothing at all left on the stage, they broke everything!

Then it was waiting for the NINE INCH NAILS, listened to Lost Prophets, no one can seem to explain why the singer who i believe is welsh, talks with an american accent? Crowd sempt to love them... but i had no intentions of caring, since i'd been waiting all weekend for the next two bands! and then .. they came!

Holy fuckin shit! they were AMANZING!!! Defaintely the best band on the whole weekend!! I got Killed in the crowd and went further to the back. Those industrial kids are violent hehe. The Day the whole world went away and March of the pigs were sooo good. Their lighting was also awesome and for some reason, they were the loudest band on the main stage the whole weekend. The Kick drum and the bass were beating my chest. ... and thats how it should be.
After NIN ... came .. oh my god .. something .. that in 2001 .. i thought i would never see again. THE SMASHING PUMPKINS They came onstage, and i felt like my heart was going to explode, thats the feeling i've always had about the band, but .. i guess i forgot with them not being around. They were really good, alot better than on their fairwell tour, which is soo hard for me to say being a huge fan of James Iha, and worshipping MaDM. The band were tight as fuck, and some of the crazy jams between the songs were pink floyd epic. I managed until after Zero, before i nearly passed out from the heat and being crushed, so off came my top, and i crowd surffed to the front with my bra on! I watched the rest of the set from the back, and i still have no voice from shouting the words to all the songs.
After that, i met up with everyone outside the guest area, and just when i was thinking man this day seriously couldn't get any better, this guy showed up. I don't think i need to say anything more.

It's going to have to be a really REALLY amazing, extordanary, day to beats this one.

We went back to the tent, finnished a bottle of Baileys and burnt my converse, then went to sleep, so we could get up early and work out how to get home.

Reading - Saturday

Saturday had a few more bands i wanted to watch. We got up early, a little hungover, to watch Paramore! We wanted to be right near the front. Didn't realise how far away the stage was from the Crowd. I got a few ok pictures for a cam with no zoom.

After Paramore, we went to the Guest area, and met up with a bunch of really cool guys, Matt, Dave and Tim, lovely americans. They got us crazy sunhats (which without sunstoke would have been definate)

Then it was time for The Shins, i love them anyway but they were awesome. I was wearing my 'It's the shins fault' t-shirt. It got really really hot.

Before long, it was time for Dinosaur Junior, who i was very excited about seeing. The Strangest thing happened. The two people infront of me were taking pictures of themselves in the D.J crowd, i helpped them and then looked at them again, and we all realised I'd met them before, at Download festival on the Saturday watching My Vitriol, who were on at the exact same time as Dinosaur Junior were at Reading. Small world!!

Then there was Tinned Mackral and cobs (or baps/rolls/buns/batches depending on where you live) mm tastey! After fish, there was FIRE! People were getting ready for Red Hot Chili Peppers, unfortunately they were not too hot .. lots of mistiming and crazy fuck-ups, Anthony jumping on Johns pedal board, and falling over the mic stand. Everyone has a bad day at work. We just drank more beers.

Reading - Friday

Once i had the tickets in my hand, me K@ and Stevie, pitched the tent and Sprinted to the gates, to get to see Sparta (amazing wall of noise - head implosion warning)! After that .. we just hung out, beers in hand, Stevie went to watch plain white T's ... me and kat were watching the Gossip, they played great. After that i met Butch Vig (the legend), who is someone i never thought i'd meet, he was a sweetheart.

The rest of the day involved much drinking, sun and then being destroyed by the Ash crowd. Stevie went walk abouts in the night. Can't padlock a tent!

Day Tripping`

Sometimes you get insane ideas in your head, and just carry them out, this was one of those events! We went to London, beer in hand, to see Reuben @ KOKO. The rain was insane, we were all completely soaked!

We watched this band ^ BLACKHOLE, i thought they were pretty awesome, just needed to look a little more interested in what they were doing.

looks like the guy from the Gallows? oh yeah, it's his kid brother, and a nice guy he is too.

This shoddy pic is of Jamie (Reuben) It was a great show, sometimes its hard to see how 3 guys can make soo much melodic-noise. Can't wait to catch them again.

Unfortunately, the bands started so late. We had no way of escaping! We somehow got to kings cross, and were sat around, trying to keep steves warm, while were were being hassled by hookers and drug addicts! oh and did i mention it was still raining!
We were eventually rescued at 3am or something, I guess i'm just a northen kid. i don't get how big London is.

I had some pretty cool pictures taken in Belgium. AND!! you have to love the fact that i'm messing with a Gene Simmons axe bass. My dad is very proud!

Belgium

To finish our series of small tours, we went to Belgium (which is a place that seems to love making me drink too much) On the way down they closed the eurotunnel, making us trapped in 10 miles of traffic! before long (with the help of the police) The van was on its way, over the channel. yay for boats! We got there just in time, to get on stage and play! It was great supporting The Dwarves and hanging out with Blag and the lads.

Bulgaria

Bulgaria was a great place to go and play. The only problem was the unbareable heat! On the day we played a festival in Vidin it was 44* good job there was a fountain.

MASTERS OF ROCK

Masters of Rock was awesome! Seeing my dad in the crowd, meeing Lemmy and also! The AMAZING collection of Mullets!
